The transformation of a former care home into a modern, fully equipped private school — breathing new life into an existing structure while avoiding unnecessary demolition and cost.

The Challenge
The existing building had significant infrastructure issues, with outdated systems and areas that appeared to require extensive (and expensive) demolition. The challenge was to create a safe, functional, and inspiring learning environment without incurring prohibitive costs or disrupting the surrounding community.

Our Role
We led the strategic strip-out of the existing building, assessing the structure in detail to identify opportunities for reuse. By finding innovative renovation solutions, we were able to overcome infrastructure limitations without demolishing key sections — significantly reducing cost, time, and environmental impact.

The Outcome
The project delivered a fully modernised private school within the existing footprint, meeting all educational and safety standards while preserving valuable structural elements. The result was a cost-effective, sustainable transformation that allowed the school to open its doors on schedule and within budget.
